Join our New & Improved Badminton League
Our Spring 2026 Badminton program has been refined to better ensure our players find the best experience for their skill set. We’ve reduced our per class maximum group size by 25%, and added a Level 2 option for the returning player who’s ready to elevate their game. See our FAQs for more information.
Easy to learn but difficult to master, Badminton is a dynamic, fast-paced racket sport that emphasizes agility, precision, and strategy. Players will learn basic strokes and footwork skills while learning to play, developing hand-eye coordination, quick reflexes, and physical endurance.
Whether you're just picking up a racket for the first time or building on existing skills, PlayCV's badminton league offers an engaging environment to stay active, make new friends, and build on your badminton skills!
Boost endurance, sharpen your reflexes and learn quick footwork.
Work with a teammate to cover the court, build communication, and have good sportsmanship.

Level 1 Beginner Badminton Class
Perfect for: The "Greenest" New Players
This class is designed for novices but can serve as a low-pressure option for players who joined us during our Fall 2025 program. If you've never held a racquet before, are unfamiliar with the rules, or struggle to hit the shuttlecock consistently, this is your starting line. We assume zero prior knowledge but welcome repeat players who haven’t played with us since the fall. The focus is on building a solid foundation in a low-pressure setting.
You are a fit for the Beginner class if:
- You are brand new to the sport.
- You don't know how to keep score or understand basic game rules.
- You’re not familiar with the very basics: grip, stance, and simple serves/returns.
- You want a fun, low-stakes environment to learn or relearn introductory skills.
Level 2 Advanced-Beginner Badminton Class
Perfect for: Players with Foundational Knowledge Seeking to Improve
This program is the ideal next step for those who completed and thrived during our Fall 2025 Badminton program. The focus shifts from simply making contact with the shuttle to applying specific strokes and tactical movement during game play.
You are a fit for the Advanced-Beginner class if:
- You can serve and return shuttles consistently.
- You are comfortable with forehand & backhand grips, basic footwork, and full court movement.
- You know the rules and how to keep score.
- You are ready to learn game strategies and refine specific shots like clears, drop shots, and drives.
Our league fees are designed to be affordable and accessible for all families. We offer various payment options to accommodate different budgets. Scholarships may also be available for those in need.
Our coaches are trained PlayCV staff members from the community who prioritize both skill development and life skills. They create a mentor-based environment that fosters growth and support. All coaches are committed to our league's values of respect and integrity.
